Spearmint is a popular herb for horses, dogs and other animals thanks to its soothing properties and rich inviting smell and it is widely used to help support healthy digestion and for encouraging horses that tend to be 'fussy eaters' to eat up. For people it can be used to make a soothing tea and to add palability to horse feed and supplements. If you want a supplement formulated specifically for the digestive system, including helping to maintain digestive pH balance then consider using our Equine GastriX or Canine Digest Support. See "how do I use it for guidelines. We also use Spearmint in our Herballs, the best selling Herbal Treats which are free from sugars and molasses and can therefore be used safely for "Laminitis Prone" horses and ponies.
Ingredients
Spearmint Mint herb (Mentha spicata)
Guidelines*
*please note: we do not include feeding instructions on the packaging or include a scoop in the bag or tub. This is due to the consistency of straight herbs eg roots are more dense than leaves or flowers, and they can be given to a variety of species. For further research on using straight herbs for animals there are some good books available including Hilary Self's "A Modern Horse Herbal".
